Get ready for this training course in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia!.
The training course "Theatre Forum - You create your reality" is the implementation of many years of experience of Diligo trainers in the field of participatory theatre, August Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, specifically one of its branches - Theatre Forum, into the professional life of five European partners with the aim of professional growth and development in creative work with youth.
The content of the training focuses on finding effective tools for strengthening youth at a given developmental stage - tools that will support youth, increase their self-awareness, self-acceptance and competence for finding solutions in their life.
The tools of August Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, specifically the tools of the participatory Theatre Forum and Paolo Freire's pedagogy offer young people the possibility of self-reflection (awareness of their situation and acceptance of it), problem definition (situation analysis and focus on the essential), sharing their problem, searching for a solution and creating new reality.
Here are the tools we will share in the training:
- Basics of the Theatre of the Oppressed by August Boal, its branches (Legislative Theater, Newspaper Theater, Invisible Theater, Rainbow of Desires, etc.)
- Theatre Forum as a participatory form of the Theatre of the Oppressed (we bring a specific problem to the stage, by involving the audience we look for solutions together)
- Basics of Paolo Freira's pedagogy (development of critical thinking, pedagogy of the oppressed, etc.)
- Basics of working with a group and theatrical form - Basics of facilitating the process of change (facilitating the process of finding a solution between the audience and the actors, developing facilitator competencies)
Objectives of the project:
- Increase the competence of youth workers through theater and expressive artistic approaches in creating an open dialogue with youth, defining their problems and finding solutions to their life situations
- Equip youth workers with proven work procedures based on A. Boal's Theater of the Oppressed, Forum Theater and Paolo Freir's pedagogy
- Using shared methods to support the efficiency, persistence and professionalism of workers in the process of integrating youth into a prosperous life.
